清晨的雾霭很重，能见度不高，街上的车辆还开着夜灯，从后方看去就像一个个飘着的灯笼。两旁的自行车道上满是骑着自行车要去上班的人，蔚为壮观。十字路口挤满了卖早餐的小摊，围拢着男男女女。七点二十分，王蒙看了看表，他正驶往案发现场。
案发现场？王蒙想到这个词，自己都笑了起来。职业习惯。但这个词在这个时候跳出，有些讽刺。这次，凶手是他。
在昨夜经过深思熟虑并最终决定计划后，王蒙今早出门做了两件事。他用张璇的手机分别向张璇的房东以及同事发了短信。
“实在不好意思，家里临时有急事，很着急。我得今天一早赶回去，可能要呆两三个月。租金等我回来后一定交。我的手机马上就欠费了，等我充值后再给您电话吧。麻烦您，房子一定替我保留。”这个短信除去解释了张璇消失的原因之外，还传达了两个信息：房租和房间。房东在确定房租不会拖欠后，一定不会报案，谁都怕惹麻烦。而关于房间，王蒙至少期望，可以保留至明天。他担心房东在得知张璇离开西安的消息后，会擅自进入房内。那么，和他有关的照片就有可能生出不必要的枝节。今晚，他就会销毁照片。
短信发出不过一分钟，房东便来了电话。这在王蒙的预料之中，事关房租，房东一定很谨慎。
“喂，你好！”王蒙尽量改变自己的声音。
“哦，你是小张的朋友吗？她家里出什么事了？昨天还好好的。”电话中传来一位老大妈的声音，很朴实。
“啊，是的，我是张璇的朋友。她正在买票，准备坐长途车回去。”王蒙尽量提高嗓门。
“哦，这么突然。家里出啥子事儿了？”
“我也不是很清楚，好像很急，她手机快没电了。”
“哦，不打紧，我就是问问。这孩子不错。”
“房租的事，张璇跟我说了，要是您不放心，我帮您寄过去！”
“呵呵，不用，还有三个月押金呢。我就是问问。行了，不说了，让她小心点！”
挂了房东的电话后，王蒙给张璇联系最紧密的同事发了第二条短信：“今早家中有急事，我得马上赶回去，离开的时间估计很长，我决定辞职。实在抱歉没办法当面办理手续，帮我跟领导道个歉。祝大家顺利！”不等回复，王蒙便将手机关掉。除了直接表明态度的决绝以便支持无法当面辞职的理由之外，关于直接关掉手机的原因，王蒙还另有打算。
王蒙抖擞了下精神，放着尸体的屋子就快到了。即将再次看到张璇的尸体，不免让他心生寒意。将尸体掩埋，这是目前唯一可行的方法。选个偏僻处，挖个坑，埋了，不会有人知道。掩埋时间，就定在今晚。他现在过来，是始终觉得别扭。毕竟，一个尸体明目张胆摆在那里总归不好，先盖张床单。
那间小屋位于西安市西郊。几十栋老实居民楼连成一片，耸立在街道右侧。面向街道的一层早已改成可供出租的商铺，杂货铺、小吃店连成一排，有些凌乱。至第三个岔路口右拐进去，整个居民区便呈现眼前，有些灰暗的居民楼整齐排列，将这里划分的错落有致。王蒙大方的将警车停在位于居民区东南角的一栋楼下，腋下夹着皮包，慢悠悠的上楼。
这座于九十年代建成的居民楼共七层，没有电梯，必须徒步上去。王蒙下意识的朝天花板看了看，这是栋老楼，没有监控录像。当时在为张璇选择住处的时候，出于职业敏感，便故意将房子选在这里。因为比较简陋，张璇很不乐意。王蒙还有些纳闷，通情达理的张璇怎么会为了房子生气，这和平时的她大相径庭。现在，王蒙已然恍然大悟。
“早啊！”一个中年男人冲着王蒙打招呼，有些皮笑肉不笑。他们在楼梯间不期而遇。
“早。”王蒙正在上楼，还有一层。
男人擦身而过。这个男人四十上下，白发已经许多，一脸胡子茬，高鼻梁厚嘴唇，眼袋低垂。王蒙经常见到他，住在隔壁。一定是个为生活疲于奔命的居家男人。
住在隔壁的两户人家知道有个警察租了旁边的房子，一个年轻女孩经常过来。现在的邻里已大不如前，隔壁的住户也就知道这些，彼此之间不会打听什么。王蒙并不担心这个住处，因为它与张璇将毫无关联。他需要做的，只是在深夜将张璇的尸体装进帆布袋，运走，埋掉。半年后，将房子退掉，永远封存昨晚的秘密。
王蒙站在房门外，长出了口气，脑海中浮现出长了尸斑的张璇。王蒙扶了扶眼镜，一切都会好起来。他掏出钥匙，开了门。
这间屋子与千千万万居家过日子的房间别无二致，一张普通双人床、一个壁柜衣橱，对面的简易电视机柜上放着一台24英寸纯平液晶电视机，旁边一张电脑台上放着一台惠普笔记本，靠近房门左侧有一张素雅的餐桌，四把椅子整齐摆放在餐桌四周。再向前，便是紧挨的卫生间和厨房。一切正常。
站在门口的王蒙，却表情骇然。
本应躺在地上的张璇，消失了。
王蒙强压住已开始急促的呼吸，将门轻轻关上。他能感觉到后背正在冒汗，头皮有些发麻，砰砰的心跳声也可清晰听到。他正了正眼镜，强迫自己冷静下来。手上出汗了，眼镜片粘上了汗渍，眼前一片模糊。他取下眼镜，准备用衣角擦擦，但他发现，自己的手有些抖。
他的一切分析和设想，都被这突如其来的一幕彻底击垮。
怎么回事？到底怎么回事？难道是我漏掉了什么？是谁？为什么？尸体去了哪里？不对，难道张璇没有死？她自己跑了？不可能，完全不可能，我明明摸过脉搏。她死了，她一定死了。尸体在哪里？我的尸体在哪里？
王蒙想掏出一根烟，但发现眼镜还在手上。他下意识的抬头看了看屋内，景象更加模糊。他的近视在四年内已由两百度提高至四百度。他重新戴上眼镜，才发现汗渍还没有擦掉。他有些气馁，决定不再管眼镜。他掏出烟，点燃，深深吸了一口，向空中吐去。他闭上双眼。额头的汗珠已划过眼皮，痒痒的。
这样不行！他强迫自己冷静下来。
多年的职业经历和训练，此时起了作用。他走进洗手间，取下眼镜，拧开水龙头，尽可能的将捧在手中的水泼到脸上。凉意很快让他恢复了些理智。王蒙抬起头，看到镜中的自己，头发湿漉漉的挂在额前，水珠顺着脸颊流下。王蒙的眼神，逐渐恢复了生气。
“好好想想，接下来该怎么办？”王蒙对着镜中的自己，小声说着。
这时，一个疑点进入他的视线。卫生间的墙壁和地面，是湿的。
自从开始调查张璇，王蒙和她近一个月内的见面次数逐渐减少，随着王蒙的怀疑渐渐提高，他越发抗拒与张璇的会面。王蒙清楚记得，上一次使用卫生间已是一周之前的事。王蒙俯下身仔细查看，发现地面确实被水冲洗过，低处明显还有积水，仅有几片很小面积的干燥。墙壁与地面类似，甚至有明显的水流痕迹。
带着疑问，王蒙转身，准备走出卫生间。他随意一瞥，第二个疑点进入视线。他和张璇的毛巾不见了。毛巾本该挂在墙上，可现在只有空空的固定在墙上的铁架。
站在屋子中间的王蒙，理智已重新回到身上，他扶了扶眼镜，再次点燃一根烟，环视四周。他发现了第三个疑点，四把椅子整齐摆放在餐桌四周。他昨晚坐了其中一把，走的时候没有挪动。椅子本该在尸体的旁边，而尸体也本该在屋子中间。王蒙开始重新架构整个事件。
万分之一的可能，张璇没有死。这似乎可以解释所有已发生的事情。张璇醒来，发现王蒙已经离开。于是，她冲澡、整理房间、拿走毛巾。为什么？她一定会给王蒙电话，并且更加变本加厉的威胁。又或许，她怕了？
王蒙甩了甩头，让自己不要继续胡思乱想。张璇确定无疑的已经死亡，被他掐死，否则，就是在侮辱他将近十年的从业经验。那么，在昨晚一定出现了某位神秘挪尸人。他在王蒙离开后，偷偷潜入、冷静的将尸体装好、冲洗卫生间、整理房间，最后离开。
王蒙的后背，阵阵寒意袭来。
虽然动机不明，但事实确实如此。王蒙的思路有些乱，手中的烟灰已留了一大截。他随手将烟灰弹至烟灰缸中，想要定定神。他皱了皱眉，第四个疑点出现：烟灰缸很干净。昨晚的一幕再次浮现：争吵、杀人，期间他抽了两根烟，将未燃尽的烟头摁灭至烟灰缸后，没有清理。
